Farewell, Classroom!
As my time abroad comes to an end, I cannot believe how quickly this experience has gone by. For most of my semester, I studied in Amsterdam, and for the final two weeks of my program, I had the opportunity to live and study in London. Soon, I will be heading back home, and I am excited to return to my family and friends. I am also looking forward to going back to my daily routines, being familiar with what I grew up around. I know that while I will be much more at ease, I know I will miss so many things about life abroad too.
Something about building a life in another country is exciting and also nerve-racking. I will miss biking through the streets of Amsterdam, seeing the canals every day and experiencing how connected the city feels. I will miss going to the local grocery store and seeing feathers on my eggs or the stands of fresh pastries and delights. I am also going to miss London, riding the Underground, visiting historic places like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and being surrounded by people and culture from all over the world. Both cities taught me so much, not only inside the classroom but through everyday experiences as well.
