This week was filled with a lot of travel! I flew from Sydney to Brisbane, which is a 1.5 hour flight. My friends and I then rented a car and drove over the next 9 days, making many stops along the way. We drove a total of a little more than 1200 miles. This is like driving from New York to Florida, which is a long way!
In total for my East Coast road trip of Australia we traveled almost 2000 miles! We flew from Sydney to Brisbane, and then drove from Brisbane to Cape Tribulation and flew back to Sydney from Cairns. It was quite an adventure!
Since this week was filled with more travel than usual I flew on a plane. I also drove a lot. This week was even more exciting because I was on a car-ferry, so this is a huge boat that you drive your car on to go across the water. I also rode in a huge tour bus on Fraser Island. It looks more like a monster truck than a bus, it is so big because there are no roads on the island, only sand. You have to have a special kind of truck to drive on the island because it is like you are always driving on the beach. Another fun part of my trip was spending the night on a sailboat. I spent two days and one night on a sailboat, sailing through Whitsundays.
