Australian Foods

Introduction:

Many of the foods that are eaten in Australia are very similar to those in the U.S. They love Italian foods like pizza and pasta, Asian foods like fried rice and dumpling soup, and even like to enjoy a cheeseburger and fries, which Australians consider "American food".

One difference between Australia and the U.S. is that you will find kangaroo burgers in many of the restaurants, but I am not brave enough to try it! In the northeast of Australia, there are many saltwater crocodies. They are another favorite for use in burgers: crocodile burger. Even though I have not tried a kangaroo burger or a croc burger, I have had many other yummy food while I have been here.

What food did I try?:

I went to the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival and tried a cherry blossom burger, which is a beef cheesburger with a special Japanese mayo and a pink bun. The bun is pink because it is dyed with cherry blossoms.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I was very excited to try it because it looks like a "Krabby Patty" from the TV show "Spongebob Squarepants".

How is the food prepared?:

I had the food at a festival, so like many festival foods, it was from a food truck. They cooked the burger on the grill in the truck and then passed it out the window to me.
