Australian Foods

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Many Australian foods are connected to the local environment. Australians mainly eat what is grown or raised in Australia, whether it is fruits and vegetables that grow here or animals that are native to Australia like kangaroos and crocodiles. Australians are also more careful about what is in their food, like the dyes and preservatives that are in many of our "junk" foods. The burger I ate was special because the bun was dyed with cherry blossoms to give it its pink color. This is another example of how Australians use what is in the environment for their food instead of artifical dyes.
