Taiwan's weather at this time of year is some of its best, and this week was no different. We are past the monsoon (heavy rain) and typhoon (hurricane) seasons. Pingtung County, where I live, is the most southern county in Taiwan; so it makes sense that it is also its warmest and sunniest. Lately, the temperature has been around 70 - 80 degrees. But this week, the weather was quite sunny all over Taiwan. There was a bit of rain when I was driving up the northeast coast, but it was not nearly as bad as I was warned it could be. I was very grateful for that on my huandao.
Taiwan has wild monkeys (called Formosan Rock Macaques) that mostly live around the mountainous coastal areas. They also tend to stay away from places with a lot of people. So, I don’t see them too often. But on my huandao, I ran into them a few times! Each time I saw them, I scrambled to get my camera out of my bag to snap a photo.
