Our spring semester is finally drawing to a close on both sides of the world. As you prepare for whatever adventures your summer break will bring you, I am planning out my final lessons for the year, an upcoming trip to Taipei for our final yearly conference and my flight back home to Iowa in July.
I am so grateful for the incredible experience I’ve had in and out of the classroom this year. I have learned so much about what creates the various vibrant cultures across Taiwan, and I’m especially glad to have gotten to share some of that knowledge with you through our correspondence.
However! My journey in Taiwan will not be ending here. Fulbright Taiwan offers a unique opportunity to extend your teaching assistant experience beyond the traditional Fulbright year. I’m happy to say I’ve taken up that opportunity and committed to another year in Pingtung County as a senior English Teaching Flagship grantee. I know I still have much more to learn, and I’m so glad I will get the chance to keep on learning next year.
I can tell from your wonderfully inquisitive questions that you also love to learn about the world around you, and I thank you all for inspiring my own observations even more through your curiosity.
