The Infona center is lcoated about 20 miles from Trinidad, and I planned to meet the other 14 volunteers going to the center at the bus stop in Trinidad. On both days of my journey, I had to wake up at 5:00 a.m. and leave by 6:00 a.m. so that I would be biking before it got unbearably hot. The second day, I left Carmen De Paraná at 5:45 a.m., and arrived in Trinidad at 10:30.a.m., just in time to take the bus with all of my friends. If I had arrived any later, I would´ve missed the bus, and I would have had to wait for a long time at the bus stop by myself, which wouldn´t have been very fun. All 14 of us stayed the night in Trinidad at the house of the volunteers who live there, and we used a combination of hammocks, sleeping bags and mattresses to fit everyone. It is one of the highlights of my service so far, because the very difficult bike ride on hilly roads ended with the reward of getting to spend time with all of my friends, which gave me a real break, since I am only speaking Spanish in my community.
This week, I finished reading Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, with whom I will actually be having a call with today, 1/26/26. I have started reading Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders, and Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. To save space, I have been reading all my books here on my Kindle. Additionally, I like to listen to audiobooks, and have been listening to A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle, which is the sequel to his more popular book, The Power of Now.
