It was super hot and windy this week. Most days it has been between 90 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and it is in the high 60’s, 70’s and 80’s during the rest of the day. I try to do my activities right when the sun rises or when it is getting close to sunset in order to beat the heat.
This week, I saw cows, and unfortunately also the killing of one. I have seen many different bugs that I can’t identify, as well as various sized lizards. Toads are extremely common here, and there are usually five to six at a time in my backyard. Sometimes they're even in the shower! I also saw lots of different birds this week, as Paraguay is known for having a lot of bird diversity. I am not a bird watcher, so I couldn’t say what species they are. My guess is that one bird that I saw a lot on my bike journey along the highway could be a monk parakeet, but I am not sure.
