Hi, everyone!
Thank you so much for choosing to be a part of this journey with me. Although I still have almost two more years to go here in Paraguay before I complete my service with the Peace Corps, I feel that I have come a long way in the couple months that I have been corresponding with you. I have been so grateful to have the opportunity to share my experiences with learners as curious and engaged as all of you. In the time that we've spent together, I moved to my very own place, for my first time ever living all on my own. Additionally, I planned and held my first English summer camp, as well as a basketball camp. Once school started in March, I began teaching environmental and English lessons in class alongside the teachers. All of these experiences were exciting but also nerve-wracking for me, as I did not have any teaching experience before coming to Paraguay. I have so much more respect for teachers than I already did, now realizing how much work they have to put in and out of the classroom just to make their lessons go well. Mrs. Darley works very hard with all of you in the classroom each and every day, and then she goes home and thinks about how to set up the lessons for the future.
