A Country Getting Smaller

Although Japan is still facing the issue of an aging population, the government is working to try and reduce the problem. Because many believe the problem will continue to exist for many years, some say that the population of Japan could fall below 100 million people by 2050. Tokyo alone has 9.3 million people living in its prefecture. Most of the population has begun to move into the big cities to find better work and opportunities. However, this leaves much of the older generation alone in the countrysides without someone to care for them. So, this opens up another problem, but it also provides many opportunities for work.
