What main languages are spoken here?:

English and Twi are the main languages spoken here. There are many dialects spoken in Ghana like Ga and Ewe, but Twi is the most commonly understood by the majority of Ghanaians. Many people speak English, and in varying degrees. Kids are now taught English at school so it is easier to communicate with them than some adults.

What type of money is used here?:

The currency used in Ghana is the cedis. One U.S dollar is now equivalent to about five cedis. They also have coin currency called pesewas. Something I thought was an interesting feature about the cedis was that every bill is a different size depending on the worth. The highest bill in cedis is a 50, and it is literally the biggest bill!

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

In Ghana you can purchase bottled water or satchels of water. Both are purified and fine to drink; it really depends how you feel that day if you would want a satchel or a bottle. Bottles tend to be slightely more expensive, costing about one cedi and 50 pesewas. There are very large bottles that are 20 oz than can cost double, whereas a single satchel of water can cost as low as 20 pesewas.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week, and maybe during my seven weeks in Ghana, was a tub of fried rice and chicken after reurning back from the Volta Region.
