Due to this lack of resources, many people are forced to drink bottled water. Even though the price of bottled water is fairly low in Jordan (only about 25 cents), the cost adds up and for many Jordanians buying bottled water has become a financial burden. Additionally, countries such as Jordan that are in the Middle East struggle a great deal with running water because there are not many running streams of water since this is a desert region.

Is this need being met? How?:

Currently, the need for clean water is not being met by the government of Jordan. They still do not provide clean tap water for Jordanians and have not provided free bottled water. There are not any current plans that would provide clean water to people that live in Jordan, but hopefully there will be in the future! As of now and for the foreseeable future, people in Jordan will have to purchase bottled water because of the lack of clean tap water available to them in their own homes. This situation will not change until the government takes action!
