The Arrondissements of Paris

Along this mile long street, you can find haute couture from the well most known brands in the world, with the Place de la Concorde on one end and the Arc de Triomphe on the other.  It's best to have steep pockets when shopping here! The Arc de Triomphe is also another highly visited place in Paris, and it was a gift to Napoleon I from himself, celebrating the great French victories achieved during his reign.

Opéra: 9th Arrondissement

Fancy a day at the Opéra? During the 19th and 20th centuries, the Palais Garnier a 1,979-seat opera house at the Place de l'Opéra, was the site for any well-known classical performance in Paris. Known for its opulence and prestige, it was built at the behest of Napoleon III for the Paris Opéra. Considered one of the most famous opera houses in the world, it was the primary theatre for the Paris Opera and Paris Opéra Ballet up until 1989 when the Opera Bastille opened at Place de Bastille.

Les Gares: 10th Arrondissement

In total, there are seven train stations or gares in Paris, and here you will find the two largest stations of Paris,  Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. These stations are extremely large to accomodate the high number of commuters and visitors from outside Ile de France and two of the largest metro stations in Paris. While the 10th may not be on most visitors itineraries, its is full of shops, great restaurants and lovely hotels.
