Welcome to My Italian Journey!

I'm taking some classes on Roman history and psychology. Additionally, I work at a hospital with a doctor to gain useful experience in the medical field. I'm also researching how foreign languages are taught differently in Italy. Studying abroad includes exciting field trips around the city—we even had class at the Colosseum one day!

When I’m not busy with academics, I enjoy exploring Rome's lesser-known areas. Some of my most memorable experiences have been wandering through small side streets, where you can find authentic food and see what local life is like. Italian café culture is super interesting—most people start their day with an espresso or cappuccino and a cornetto (similar to a croissant) at a local café. I've picked up the habit of the traditional Italian breakfast during my stay.

Throughout my life, I've been lucky to visit Hungary once or twice every year to see my family. It's a beautiful country, especially in summer when sunflower fields line the roadways. Sometimes my Hungarian grandparents visit me in Terre Haute for special occasions, allowing me to share my culture with my loved ones. My family loves to travel, and I've visited all 50 U.S. states! During this semester, I've traveled to many other European countries (and even one in Africa!), bringing my total country count to 30! I am very thankful for all of the memories I have made.

I look forward to getting to know all of you over the coming weeks as I share my experiences from Italy. Thank you for joining me on my study abroad journey! Ciao (bye)!
