Remote Ocean Exploration

Using ROVs (remotely operated vehicles), AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles) and autonomous ships (no human onboard!), we make maps, search for missing things, and journey to some of the deepest, darkest corners of the underwater world in the name of science. In short, we are sending marine robots where humans have never gone before!

To accomplish this, I work with an amazing team of talented people. Over the next few weeks, I’m excited for you to meet:

Seth Hickman: Seth is an offshore manager at Ocean Infinity. He is responsible for coordinating the crew that operate our AUVs. He is an experienced technician and has explored just about every ocean. He will be telling you all about what it is like to live and work on a boat at sea.

Chad Bonin: Chad is an AUV operator. This means he is the person that preprograms, launches and recovers robots. He also works at sea and has been a part of some incredible expeditions! He has seen some beautiful animals and spends most of his life surrounded by the ocean and all its natural beauty.

Charlotte Ekins: Charlotte is one of our incredible engineers that is responsible for the build of our carbon neutral robotic ships. She will take you on a journey of what it is like to build the first ever un-crewed robot ship!

Adrian Dunlop: Adrian is our vessel manager. He is in charge of managing the ships and where they will be and when. He has had a very interesting career before joining Ocean Infinity as a vessel manager. Adrian will tell you about what it is like to be a vessel manager and what he did before being one.

With this type of ocean exploration, there is no path for us to follow.
