Hi, my name is Holly, and I’m so glad you are joining me and my colleagues on this ocean expedition. You may remember me from the Weddell Sea Expedition, when we traveled together to Antarctica to learn more about the sea floor and searched for Sir Ernest Shackleton’s lost ship, Endurance. I’m excited to be back for another virtual exchange expedition!

I have always been fascinated with the ocean and what lives beneath it. I grew up in South Africa and spent most of my time either swimming in the sea or exploring the wild. I fostered a love for the outdoors from a very young age and this has been carried forward into my work life. I studied history at University, with a particular interest in the impact that humans have had on our environment over time. I am also an avid scuba diver and am particularly keen on diving shipwrecks and cave systems because they are frozen in time on the seabed and connect us to stories of the past. After finishing university I wanted to follow my passion, which was exploring and protecting the deep oceans. That is why I joined Ocean Infinity!

I currently work for a company called Ocean Infinity. We use very advanced technology to explore the world beneath the surface of our oceans.
