This week I stayed in Bogotá, but I traveled almost eight miles to go to the city center and back to my house. Bogotá is very big!
My hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana, is 2,110 miles from Bogotá, so I've traveled very far to be here!
This week I mostly got around my walking. I live very close to my school, so I walk there and back during the week. But to get to the city center and back, I took public buses. Here they are called TransMilenio.
The most interesting place that I visited this week was the city center. In Bogotá, this area is called La Candelaria, which is named after a church in the neighborhood. In this neighborhood, I saw beautiful colorful architecture, walked on cobblestone streets and went to the Botero museum. I also saw the historic Plaza de Bolívar, which is the central plaza where the Colombian government buildings are!
