Traveler Bio

¡Hola a todos y todas! (Hello everyone)! My name is John Bradley, but everyone calls me Jack. I’m 24 years old. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, and I grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana. I like to read, play video games, and do yoga. In college at Wake Forest University, I studied Sociology and Spanish. Sociology is the study of people’s settings and backgrounds.

While I was in college, I studied in Spain, and I fell in love with the language and culture. I loved it so much that after college, I went back to Spain to teach English at an elementary school! I taught in Torrent, Spain, for two years, and I learned so much about Spanish language and culture. I also learned that I love exploring new places and meeting new people.

Now I’m going to Bogotá, Colombia, to teach English at the National University of Colombia! Colombia is a South American country, and Bogotá is the capital city.

I recieved a special award called a Fulbright grant, which helps me travel to teach English!

I chose Colombia because I have many amazing Colombian friends and I want to explore the beautiful nature there—like the Amazon rainforest!

I am excited to learn more about Colombian food, music, art, and history, and I look forward to sharing my journey with you all!
