This week I traveled more than 125 miles by bicycle through Morocco, starting in Casablanca and continuing north through Rabat and toward Moulay Bousselham. My daily distances have varied depending on the route, weather, and where I can find a place to stay, but every mile is bringing me closer to Spain and eventually my destination in Vigo.
So far, I have traveled more than 125 miles by bicycle since beginning the Pedal to Port expedition in Casablanca.

The most interesting place I visited this week was the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, one of the largest mosques in the world. It sits right beside the Atlantic Ocean and has an enormous 210-meter-tall minaret. I also visited the mosque’s traditional hammam, or Moroccan bathhouse. A hammam is a place for bathing, relaxation, and cleansing, and experiencing one gave me another opportunity to learn about Moroccan culture firsthand. Seeing the incredible architecture of the mosque and then experiencing a traditional hammam made it one of the most memorable stops of the trip.
