The farthest I traveled this week was around 20 minutes. I live 15 minutes from the university where I work, and there are lots of cafes, stores, malls and gyms within five minutes of my apartment.
I traveled over 7,000 miles from North Carolina to Bahrain, and my flight took over 24 hours. Bahrain is a tiny country, so the farthest I have traveled within it is about 15 miles, or 30 minutes. Even if you drove from one end of the country to the other, it would take less than two hours.
I don't have a car in Bahrain, so I usually get around by taxi. If I want to go somewhere close, like the grocery store or a cafe, I can walk. However, there aren't always sidewalks or crosswalks, so it can be challenging to walk farther distances.
I visited Manama Souq, which is a traditional market in the center of Manama, Bahrain. It is full of restaurants, cafes and shops that sell sweets, clothes and anything else you can imagine.
