I did not travel this week, however, next weekend a group of girls and I are going to North Macedonia! Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, is 222km away from me. That is about 137 miles!
I've traveled over 4,000 km (2,500 miles) so far in my journey. I have visited London, England, and Catania in Sicily, Italy. I took a plane to both of those places. Bulgaria is far away from most of Europe, so unless you are traveling to another Balkan country you need to fly.
Samokov is a small town so you can walk everywhere. If you ever need to leave town, busses are Bulgaria's main mode of transportation. There is a bus that leaves to Sofia, the capital, every hour.
The most interesting place I visited this week was the new sports arena complex in town: SamElyon. This complex was opened in July of this year, so it is brand new. My co-teacher and I were able to take a short tour and see the basketball arena, restaraunts, and the private homes. It felt like a ghost town because no one was there, but I've heard it gets extremely busy during sporting events and the winter season.
