Within Rome, I travel about 6-8 miles a day. Most of this is done by walking, but I also use the bus and train to get around. Polignano a Mare is 288 miles from Rome. I arrived there on a train, and I left the area from the airport in Bari.
More miles than I can count! I've been on planes, trains, boats, buses and cars all around Europe and even in Africa, too. I'm lucky to have traveled thousands of miles by now.
I got around mostly by foot this week. I use the bus to get into downtown Rome, but then I usually walk to my destination from the bus stop. I used the train to get to Bari, a bus to go to Alberbello and Matera, another train to get to Polignano a Mare and a plane to return to Rome. Quite the busy weekend!
I visited Alberobello, which is a small village that is home to the famous white "trulli" houses. They look like homes for gnomes because they have pointy roofs. It was like I was in a fairytale town!
