Ciao! I’m Teresina, an Italian name that means “little Theresa.” I was named after my grandmother, who was born in Calabria, Italy. I’m 20 years old and originally from Southbury, Connecticut. Although I’m from Connecticut, I’ve spent my first two and a half years of college living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since moving there, I’ve fallen in love with Philly and everything it has to offer—from delicious cheesesteaks and passionate sports fans to, of course, Rocky.
Even though I love Philadelphia, I knew when I applied to college that I wanted to study in Italy. Temple University has a well-developed program in Rome, and that opportunity brought me here.
Growing up, I loved reading about mythology, and I’m really looking forward to learning more about ancient beliefs and symbolism through my classes and by exploring the city. Another reason I chose Italy is because I’ve been learning Italian. I absolutely love the language, and while the immersive practice has been challenging at times, it has already been incredibly rewarding.
I’m excited for you to follow along on my journey in Rome, and I can’t wait to meet you!
