Arrivederci!

I've been taking really wonderful classes since being here too, like Race in the Ancient Mediterranean, which has taught me about the groups of people who live and used to live in the region, and Art of Sacred Space, where we have studied everything from temples to gardens and churches, and discussed how these areas can be very important for different people.

During my time here, I have also made some really great friends through my program, and I'm excited to go back to the United States with them! Temple University has an incredible study abroad program that is really well-equipped to help students with their goals of travelling and learning more. I'm so grateful not just to Temple, but also to the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship for helping me get to Rome for the semester. The Gilman Program is a scholarship offered by the United States government to help students with high financial need to pursue academic studies abroad. As a Gilman Scholar, I applied for and reciveved a stipend to help cover my expenses while I was living in Rome. This financial help is something future college students might be thinking about, so it's important to know that there are more opportunities for you than you think!
