Traveler Bio

Hej (Hello) from Denmark! My name is Taylor and I am 22 years old. I currently live in Aarhus, Denmark, but I grew up in a small town called Maple Valley, Washington, which is sort of close to Seattle. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to study wildlife and eventually do research, so I attended a college called the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, which is even smaller than Maple Valley. I studied lots of cool animals in Idaho like bats, mountain lions, bobcats, and even mosquitoes! I got to visit a lot of places to find these animals like Ecuador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Peru.

By the time I graduated college, I had fallen in love with research and didn't want to stop. I applied for a U.S. Fulbright Grant to study arctic ecosystems and wildlife in Denmark and Greenland. I was fortunate enough to receive this grant, and now I live in Aarhus, Denmark. It's a much bigger city than I am used to, but it has a lot of students and I have loved it so far. Currently, I work in a marine bioacoustics lab where they study echolocation from whales! I can't wait to share all of my experiences with you and get to answer your questions.
