Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

While ramen is a popular national and worldwide dish, it is very connected to local Japanese communities. There are varieties of ramen that you can only find in certain regions of Japan that are their specialties.

In Hokkaido, Japan, the specialty is curry milk ramen because Hokkaido is famous for its milk and cheeses.

In Toyama Japan, you can try green ramen that has spinach blended into the broth.

In Tokyo Japan, the most popular variety is Tonkotsu ramen, which has a pork-based broth.
