Ciao everyone!
I want to start by thanking you all for joining me on my journey here in Siena, Italy. I am currently in my last third of my travels, and I am feeling bittersweet. I have absolutely loved studying here in Italy and learning more about Italian traditions, food and people. I have made some amazing friends – some of whom you've met! I have eaten more pasta than I care to think about, and have been able to travel around Italy and Europe.
I wanted to take this time to remind you of the power of learning, exploring and staying curious. Like some of you, I am sure, I did not like science in middle school. I never saw the value in learning about biology or chemistry, and certainly hated the math involved. However, when I started to see science as something I could conquer and make accessible to my learning style, everything changed! I would suggest thinking of the hardest materials as the most fun challenges, and building down the parts piece-by-piece to understand how each puzzle piece fits. Now, with a degree in neuroscience and the goal of medical school, I finally feel confident in my abilities.
