Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Romano and I am a public relations and advertising major and a French minor at Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. My family moved from West Long Branch, New Jersey to Appomattox, Virginia when I was a baby. My grandpa was looking for somewhere to retire, my mom wanted to follow and they somehow found Appomattox. I graduated from Appomattox County High School in 2017 and moved to Baltimore four months later.
I enjoy eating, reading and binge-watching Netflix. My favorite sport is hockey, my team obviously being the Washington Capitals. At Loyola I am a Dancer on the Irish Dance team, a member of the Public Relations Student Society and a Resident Assistant. Some of my favorite classes at Loyola include philosophy and sociology. These are two classes I never thought I'd enjoy, but with a great professor, any subject can be interesting!
I am a first-generation college student, meaning I am the first one in my family to go to college. I had my heart set on the idea of college for as long as I could remember. I knew my education would lead to big things. I had always desired to leave Appomattox, so I began looking at schools outside of Virginia, eventually landing on Loyola.
