Getting Around Italy

  • To get off, press the red “STOP” button on the bars before your stop.

  • How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Riding the bus for the first time felt a little scary. I had never used public transportation before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I reminded myself that trying new things is how you grow. I got on, bought my ticket and luckily found a seat. As the bus cruised through Verona, I noticed streets and buildings I had never seen on foot. As soon as I knew it, I was approaching my stop and pressed the red button to request it. Now, I take the bus on a regular basis and it has become a daily part of my life.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

Buses aren’t just vehicles here, they’re lifelines! They connect small towns to big cities, help people get to work and make exploring new places affordable. The schedules even match the rhythms of Italian life, as when people head to work, school or markets. Riding the bus doesn’t just get you from point A to point B, it gives you a window into daily life, rolling past hills, piazzas (town squares) and neighborhoods you might miss if you were walking.
