Elephants!

So, they need to live in an environment with plenty of food (grasses, leaves and tree bark) and water. That's what national parks have.

What can harm this creature or plant? Are we worried about it?:

Humans are the main danger that elephants have to face. Some people hunt elephants illegally to sell their ivory tusks. This is called poaching. Other people may kill elephants to protect themselves or their houses. Elephants can accidentally trample people and buildings, so people kill them out of fear.

Because of hunting, the elephant population in Malawi fell from 4,000 thirty years ago to 2,000 recently. That means the elephants decreased by half! In the last few years, the number of elephants has started to go back up. This is because Malawi set aside land for national parks. Fences have been built around the parks to keep the elephants in and the hunters out. The park I visited, Liwonde National Park, had so many elephants! It is cool to see that Malawi is protecting its elephants now.
