Eating with Your Hands!

I am very thankful that my house in Malawi has electricity so I do not have to use coal. Hopefully, more Malawians will get electricity so they won't have to use coal, either.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Most of the food you find in Malawi is grown here. This is good for the environment. Let me explain. In American grocery stores, a lot of the food comes from far away, like South America. It has go on many ships and trucks to get to your home. All of these ships and trucks use a lot of fuel, which is not good for the environment. In Malawi, most of the food is grown on nearby farms. It does not need to be moved as far to get to the grocery store. This is good for the environment and also means that the food is very fresh and tasty!
