Schools in Salamanca

This made me feel grateful for the playgrounds back home. Even though some schools don't have good playgrounds, there are parks around Salamanca that have slides and swings, so the students can play there.

Also there are many libraries in Salamanca, like Casa de las Conchas. Casa de las Conchas was not built to be a library since in the past it served as a home and even a university prison. Students who misbehaved were sent to the cellars of Casa de las Conchas! Many of the buildings in Salamanca have very interesting stories, since they are so old. You can find a lot of teachers bringing their students to Casa de las Conchas to teach them about Salamanca's history.

People say that Salamanca is a great place to study, and back in the day, all the rich people used to send their kids here for their education. Even now, you can find students from around the country in Salamanca. Students come here to study, but they don't stay here for work. There aren't a lot of big companies here in Salamanca, so after graduating from college, students usually go to bigger cities like Madrid for job. For example, my host mom's son lives in Madrid because there are more opportunities for him there.

Salamanca has a lot of university buildings, but it's interesting how all of them are in different places. Usually, in the Untited States the university buildings are all centred in one big area, but here that is not the case. In order to get to another department building you have to go through many houses and stores. The schools in Salamanca are very wonderful, but they are also unique in their own ways.
