The main language spoken here is English. London is very international though, so there are hundreds of other languages spoken by international residents or tourists here. For example, some of my coworkers are from India and they speak Hindi together. I enjoy listening for new languages while out at popular tourist spots or just walking down the street.
The British "pound" is used here. One pound, written as £1.00, is equivalent to $1.35 American dollars.
The price for a bottle of water usually ranges between £0.50 and £2.00, which is roughly $0.65 to $2.70.
The best meal I had this week was South Indian food from a local restaurant. Indian food is very popular in the UK. India used to be under colonial rule by the British Empire, so the two countries have an intertwined history that continues to influence each other’s politics and culture today, including the food!
