Geneva underwent a pretty intense heat wave this summer. I got here in mid-August, so I missed the worst of it, yet it was still pretty intense for my first few weeks here (especially considering I live in pretty cold parts of the U.S.!). The heatwave was so bad this summer that there were widespread protests pertaining to the government's response to the situation with the slogan “Pas d’étés à 50 degrees” or "no 50°C summers." 50°C is 122°F! However, It's finally cooling off a bit, which is a relief. It's very rare to find AC in Geneva. If anything, Swiss architecture is built to keep the heat in rather than cool off the buildings. I tend to get really hot really easily, so I'm excited for it to be consistently fall weather here. Right now, while it's chilly at night, it's still around 25°C during midday.
