Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I flew around 288 miles from Dublin to London, then another 288 miles back. The flight time between the two cities is only one hour, which makes London a perfect weekend trip if you're living in Ireland.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

My trip to London marked my fifth trip out of Ireland since I've been living here. Believe me, I am very sick of flying. Not only is flying expensive, but it's also exhausting! Regardless, I'm grateful I've had the chance to see so many cool places. I'm also glad I got to go back to London and revisit places I saw when I was much younger.

How did I get around this week?:

In London, one of the best ways to get around is on the Tube, or the London Underground. This metro system runs across most important parts of the city. Unlike the New York subway, the Tube is usually very clean and timely, and it's not often very crowded. Due to a recent improvement, you can tap your credit card to enter the Tube station (instead of buying an actual ticket), which makes taking the Tube even more convenient.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

As the seat of the English government, Buckingham Palace was surely the most important historical spot I saw while in London. But by walking around the city (I covered 17 miles in one day!), I also saw many other cool places.
