Over the weekend, a few friends and I made homemade Flammkuchen together. It is like a very thin pizza with a creamy cheese base rather than tomato sauce.
Last weekend, I went to a party where a band was playing a lot of well-known American pop music. I was suprised at how many Germans there knew all of the words to many of the songs, especially since they were all in English!
I really enjoyed getting to travel so much last weekend, and my visit to Heidelberg Castle was especially fun. I loved getting to walk around the castle grounds and imagine what life there must have been like centuries ago.
I have been reading a lot of articles about the upcoming elections in the United States. Not only is it a big deal in America, but a lot of Europeans seem to be invested in American politics as well.
Every Friday, a couple friends of mine organize a game night at their house. This week we played Mensch ärgere Dich nicht, which translates to Man, don't get angry! It's the German version of the game Sorry!
I am at the end of my second week of classes, and I have loved every second of it so far. My professors are so interesting, and I am learning so much about the German language!
