The Lives of Kids in Spain

Introduction:

The two students I interviewed are in one of my Tercero de Eso (third year of school) classes. Tercero de Eso is the equivalent of 9th grade in the United States. I'm a teacher in a plurilingual school, where students learn Spanish (Castellano)Galician, English and French. I speak mostly in English with my students, as the school philosophy is to have an immersive environment in their language classes. During our interview, my students explained some of their daily routines and what they enjoy doing in their free time. Below are their responses that I have transposed and edited for grammar.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I eat toast. To drink I have Colacao (a sugary chocolate drink similar to chocolate milk). Sometimes I eat cookies if I have time before I leave.

For lunch I like eating chicken with potatoes or macaroni with tomato sauce.

My favorite food for dinner is pizza or hamburgers. Sometimes I have salads to be healthier.

What is your house like?:

I live in a house outside of the city (A Coruña).

Another student said "I live in a piso (apartment) in the city with my father."

What chores do you have at home?:

The chore I do the most is throwing out the trash.
