Nature in the Tropics

Introduction:

There are many animals in Bolivia that there aren't in other places. Sometimes they can be in danger because of our actions as humans, so we need to protect them!

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The pictures here depict a mono de araña, a spider monkey. They call this animal the spider monkey because of its long arms and face! It has black fur and flat hands and feet. The fur is pretty soft, but it doesn't feel like other fur I've felt before. It's pretty long and much thicker than most fur I've felt!

How did I feel when I saw it?:

The first time I saw it I was pretty scared, because one was just passing by the path of the reserve I was hiking through. A reserve is a place that is kept specifically habitable for an animal or multiple animals. This was a monkey reserve!

Where does it live?:

The spider monkeys live in the jungle, but in this case, these monkeys lived in the reserve next to a small town right outside the jungle. Generally, the monkeys live in the trees.

How does it use its environment to survive?:

The monkeys need to find everything they need to live in their environment, including food, trees to sleep in, and other monkeys because monkeys don't live alone.
