Our News

What main languages are spoken here?:

The predominant language spoken here is Thai, although it is a bit different than the Thai spoken in Chiang Mai. People in Prae and Nan have a slightly different dialect, similar to how people in the north and south of the United States speak slightly differently.

What type of money is used here?:

The baht is the currency used throughout Thailand.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

The water here can be acquired for less than 20 baht for a rather large bottle. 20 baht is equivalent to less than an American dollar, which is extremely convenient and cheap. Cheap water is important within Thailand because even the locals have a possible chance of getting sick if they consume too much tap water, as it is not as purified as water within Western countries.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was similar to a buffet that was served to us in Nan, Thailand. The buffet included various dishes such as fresh fruit, coconut curry and basil chicken topped with an omelet. Although the food was amazing, what truly made the experience awesome was that we were seated along the river and were able to watch boat teams of 25 practice for one of the largest rowing events held in Thailand.
