I quit my job in March of 2022 because you have to do lots of assignments and go to doctors’ appointments before you leave the country. I couldn’t do that and teach at the same time. I left for Rwanda in June of 2022.
I have now lived in Rwanda for 20 months, and I love it! I teach at a Teacher Training College (TTC) and a primary school called Gitwe. All of my students at the TTC will become primary teachers in Rwanda when they graduate. I teach English and how to teach English where I work. I live in a little house without running water that is a 30-minute walk from my schools. I have made what I hope are life-long friendships here in Rwanda, and I am grateful life has lead me to this experience.
I look forward to sharing more of my adventures here with all of you!
