The weather this week was mostly cloudy and chilly, with a couple very windy days. Sometimes the wind here is so strong it's hard to stand still! However, there were some sunny days too. Northern Ireland is known to be rainy and windy, but the rain usually passes after a couple hours. When it's raining hard, locals will say it's "bucketing," as if buckets of water are falling from the sky!
I stayed in the city this week, so I saw lots of pigeons and seagulls! Since Belfast is on the water, we have so many seagulls around the city. Hearing them morning and night reminds me of being home in Florida! Pigeons are common in big cities, and even though Belfast is much smaller compared to cities like New York or even Dublin, the capital of Ireland, it is still bustling with the birds.
Seeing it bucketing was definitely the highlight of my week! While my encounters with nature were limited, I hope to see more of the natural beauty Ireland has to offer in the coming months.
