Our News

My meal included many traditional Dutch components like potatoes, meat and vegetables.

What music did I listen to this week?:

My Dutch coworker showed me a song from some Dutch musicians that people love to sing at soccer games! Soccer is the most popular sport in the Netherlands, and people get as excited about it as we do about football in America.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

During the 1600s in the Netherlands, people weren't allowed to go to a Catholic church publicy. To get around this, some people turned their houses into churches that looked normal from the outside but were huge, regular churches on the inside. This week, I went to dinner at a restuarant that used to be one of these "house churches," so it felt like I was eating inside of a church which was a lot of fun!

What did I read this week?:

I've been reading a lot of scientific articles for work. I love learning about the newest updates in neuroscience (the science of the brain) and keeping track of cool new experiments that seem to come out almost every day!

What games or sports did I play this week?:

This week, I went to a trivia night with my coworkers. We had a great time testing our knowledge of celebrities, geography, and history, and I was glad to find a trivia night that was in English instead of Dutch, so that I could participate!

Other news from this week:

I had some success in my experiments at work this week. I am very excited that the things I've been working on for the last couple of months have gone well! I'm even more inspired to work hard now that I am seeing results and learning more about the brain.
