Communities in Israel: Hearing Every Voice

Some people do not have jobs that pay well enough to consistently purchase high quality food. Some people have disabilities and are not able to work.

Is this need being met? How?:

There are numerous outreach organizations that aim to fix food insecurity from all different angles. Some charities operate food banks like grocery stories that are open to people who need them. There are also organizations that advocate for better public policies that are more inclusive of the entire population. The government of Israel operates programs to support needy families.

Now that you know something about the different groups of people who live here, one thing I wanted to bring up for you to think about is how members of such vastly different communities can assist one another in ensuring that no one goes without healthy foods. Rather than feeling distance between communities, what are some ways that communities can use their contrasting food customs and contrasting holiday schedules to better help support one another?
