Words simply cannot express how life-changing the past four months have been for me. Growing up, the idea of studying abroad felt like reaching for the stars - I was certain it was not a possibility for me. Yet, here I am near the end of my study abroad journey! I still cannot believe I have had the opportunity of living in two different countries, conducting research on climate change in the Himalayas (Tsum Valley), learning basic Tibetan and completing an internship at iProbono. All in a mere four months!

Being abroad has expanded my understanding of some of the most pressing challenges of our time. For example, studying the effects of global warming in the Himalayas has taught me the importance of advocating for underrepresented Mountain Indigenous communities. Additionally, being an intern at iProbono revealed to me the power of understanding the law. Furthermore, my homestay family in Nepal not only shared with me the challenges of being immigrants but also showed me what strength looks like in difficult times. Their willingness to be compassionate and happy in a country that does not grant them citizenship has shown me courage - for that, I am both thankful and empowered.
