Getting Around Town: My Favorite Ways to Explore Mérida

Introduction:

There are cars, taxis, bikes, buses, trams, trains, subways, motorcycles, planes, helicopters, submarines, ships, yachts and the list goes on. After many years of traveling, I’ve discovered that I have a fondness for certain modes of transportation over others. Fortunately, living in Mérida allows me to enjoy my favorite modes of transportation and explore new modes of transport as well. Below are my favorite ways to get around Mérida, plus a local mode of transport that I would love to try!

What is your favorite mode of transportation and why?

How do people get around?:

With a population of over 1,000,000 residents and many tourists, Mérida is a bustling city with an extensive public bus system, a plethora of public shuttles (also known as Cumbis), as well as options to take Ubers or taxis.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

My favorite modes of transport in Mérida are:

Public Bus or Cumbi

When I am traveling by bus or by Cumbi, my eyes are often glued to the excitement of city life happening outside my window.
