I got some rest.
Then I went looking for "Kilometer Zero." I found it at Plaza Alta, on the wall of the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Palma:

The Camino de Santiago isn't just one trail. It is a network of pilgrimage routes leading toward Santiago de Compostela. I'll begin on the Vía del Estrecho, traveling toward Puerto Real near Cádiz. From there, I'll join the Vía Augusta and continue north toward Seville before connecting with other Camino routes toward Santiago.
Why do people still walk or bicycle hundreds of miles when we could simply take a car, train or airplane? For me, traveling slowly means exploring everything between the famous places on the map. There are new towns to see, people to meet, food to try, history to discover, and plenty of miles ahead.
Tomorrow, the zero day is over. Time to get back on the bike. Buen Camino!
