안녕하세요! My name is Paralee Dengler. I'm a senior at Penn State, majoring in Marketing with minors in Korean and International Business. I grew up in Pittsburgh, a quiet city in Pennsylvania. My childhood was nothing out of the ordinary. I focused on my schooling, ice skated after school, and had my nose in a book on the weekends. While my heart lies in my hometown, my soul lies elsewhere. My mother is from Thailand, while my father is from America, so I grew up being exposed to many different perspectives. Naturally, I came to crave what was outside my own bubble. I would dream about seeing the world. Now, that dream is slowly coming true. And you guys are here to experience it with me!
Something about being a good marketer is having the ability to understand people from different backgrounds. I decided to apply to the Gilman Scholarship Program to come to Seoul, South Korea so that I could learn about a culture and society so different from my own. I am so grateful to be continuing my education at Yonsei University this fall, and I can't wait to share more about my adventures with all of you and to hear more about you too!
