Korean Magpie (까치)

Introduction:

The Korean Magpie is South Korea's national bird. Do you know how pigeons are the New York City birds? Well, magpies are Korea's city birds. But, instead of frolicking around on the ground like pigeons, these birds are soaring through the city skies. These birds are said to bring good fortune, symbolizing good luck and news. These birds can be seen all over Seoul, soaring the skies, spying on humans from the tops of buildings, and chattering with other birds among the trees. This bird is also seen in a lot of Korean myths, like forming a bridge for lovers. Oooo, I'm giggling, how romantic.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

It's hard to miss the Korean magpie. It looks like a bird dressed up for a fancy party! Its head and chest might look like a shiny black color at first, but when the sun hits, the feathers suddenly shimmer with blues, greens, and sometimes even purple. It's almost like it's wearing a cape made of galaxy colors. This bird has a snowy white belly and a long tail that sways behind it like a ribbon in the wind. If you already think that is cool, just wait until it takes off and spreads its wings. It looks very majestic with its wings being a mix of blues, greens, black, and white.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

I remember I was walking up some stairs and saw a creature also walking up the stairs in front of me.
