






The inhabitants of the Eastern region are the Akuapems, the Akims, Kwahus, Krobos and Guans, with their own distinct languages. The common language spoken here is Kasem. It sounds similar to Twi, the most widely spoken language in Ghana, but they are completely different.
The cedi is used all throughout Ghana, and the currency does not change depending on the region.
A bottle of water costs as little as 10 pesewas. I originally thought they were only as cheap as 20 pesewas, but I was proved wrong in the Eastern region! Things cost less here.
At the hotel I stayed at in the Eastern region they served oatmeal with fresh fruit for breakfast. It has been so long since I have had oatmeal, and it is one of my favorite foods to have for breakfast!
I listened to a lot of reggae on my journey around Accra this week, especially on my way to the Eastern region as the drive was long and I needed some relaxing music.
