I've been listening to songs related to the moon recently as it was just the Mid-Autumn Festival, and Spotify helped me curate a playlist based on the festival! One of the more famous songs on this playlist is called "The Moon Represents My Heart " (月亮代表我的心), a ballad talking about how the moonlight represents the purity of the singer's feelings.
I had a blast going to a computer cafe with my friends and playing video games with exchange students from other countries. I've met a bunch of people from different backgrounds, such as French and German, along with other students from the US, bonding over our love for video games.
Unfortunately, I have not been doing a lot of reading other than the assigned readings for my classes! But I have been assigned the textbook A Little History of Religion by Richard Holloway. I read chapters 7-12, and they cover the beginnings of Judaism, including the history of several notable figures.
I did various activities this week, including playing badminton, going to a video game cafe and going to the gym.
Since the Mid-Autumn Festival was so recent, I also had the chance to try mooncakes. They are small, dense pastries with a thin crust and a rich filling, and they are much heavier than they look. Traditional fillings include red bean and lotus seed paste, sometimes with a salted egg yolk in the center to represent the full moon.
